Pencils, notebooks, backpacks, lunch bags… it’s back-to-school time. Are you ready?

I am! Because I’ve got my top essential oils for back to school to help keep my kids healthy and ready for the classroom. I don’t use any essential oils though. I use therapeutic-grade essential oils from Young Living. Learn more about Young Living and why I recommend it.

Top Essential Oils for Back to School

Learn more about my favorite uses for essential oils to get kids ready to go back to school.

1. Wake-Up Refreshed

Diffuse essential oil blend Clarity (made with Basil, Rosemary and Peppermint) or Motivation (made with Roman Chamomile, Spruce and Lavender) to start your day refreshed and rejuvenated. Bergamot and Ylang Ylang is a great diffuser combination too.

Parents, you need your own wake-me-up blend too right? I don’t know about you but sometimes I feel like a zombie in the morning. That’s why I diffuse En-R-Gee (made with Rosemary, Nutmeg, Black Pepper and Lemongrass). It helps to uplift and energize. It’s a must-have oil blend for every busy parent.

2. Support Healthy Immune Function

Add one drop of Thieves essential oil, a blend of Clove, Cinnamon, Lemon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary, to a spoonful of raw honey or make a wellness tea with hot water, raw honey and a drop of Thieves to drink in the morning.

2. Clean Naturally

Keep lunch boxes, desks, chairs and other surfaces clean with the help of Thieves Household Cleaner. Dilute as needed and clean without the harsh chemicals of conventional cleaners.

3. Support Healthy Digestion

Add a drop of Peppermint or DiGize (a blend made with Tarragon, Peppermint, Juniper, Fennel, Lemongrass, Anise and Patchouli) in a vegetable capsule (both essential oils are dietary supplements) or add to 1 oz. of NingXia Red (an antioxidant drink from Young Living).

For kids under 8 years old, the blend TummyGize (made with Spearmint, Peppermint, Tangerine, Fennel, Anise, Ginger and Cardamom) works well to support healthy digestion.

4. Ease the First-Day-of-School Jitters

Is your kid starting a new school or have first-day-of-school jitters? Ease the transition with essential oils. Here are some of my favorite oil blends:

Valor is one of my favorite blends – and a top seller with Young Living. It’s made with Spruce, Blue Tansy, Frankincense and Rosewood. Apply to wrists, bottom of feet (my kids love this) or diffuse to feel empowered and uplifted.

Transformation smells wonderful diffused or applied topically (dilute with V-6 or other carrier oil). It’s make with Lemon, Sacred Frankincense, Sandalwood and Peppermint to help replace negative beliefs with uplifting thoughts. Perfect for the first day of school, right?

Tranquil is made with Lavender, Cedarwood and Roman Chamomile in a convenient roll-on that kids can take to school. It’s comforting aromas is perfect for the first day of school too. Apply to the wrists or back of the neck as needed. Keep this roll-on in your child’s backpack to use before school.

5. Boost Clarity and Mental Alertness

Need help getting kids to do homework? Diffuse Brain Power (a blend of essential oils high in sesquiterpenes – like Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood, Blue Cypress and Frankincense) to promote a sense of clarity and focus.

GeneYus (made with Sacred Frankincense, Idaho Blue Spruce, Palo Santo, Melissa, Cedarwood, Blue Cypress, Galbanum and Angelica) is an essential oil blend that’s already been diluted for use with kids. Just apply topically as needed.

6. Help to Calm at the End of the Day

Diffuse Peace & Calming (made with Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Blue Tansy, Orange and Patchouli) or Grounding (made with White Fir, Pine, Angelica, Spruce, Cedarwood, Juniper and Ylang Ylang) or apply topically diluted with V-6 or other carrier oil.

7. Promote a Restful Sleep

Apply a drop of Lavender essential oil on a pillow to promote relaxation. Diffuse 3-4 drops of Cedarwood and Orange essential oils to promote a restful sleep.

You can also make your own bedtime essential oil blend with this recipe.
